Formula 1 Grand Prix at Imola 2024
Formula 1 Grand Prix at Imola 2024.
Sunday, May 19, 2024 will be a celebration of pride and promotion for all Made in Italy. A celebration that will bring hundreds of thousands of fans from all over the world and involve the whole city of Imola. From the “Enzo and Dino Ferrari” Autodrome, home of the competition, to the historic center with hundreds of events, initiatives and novelties in a city that is renewed every day.
The organizational machine is already at work for a great event full of passion and excitement in the heart of the Motor Valley. After the cancellation of 2023 due to the flood that hit the area hard, the drivers will be going for the win. The goal will be to snatch the title from the current world champion, Dutchman Max Verstappen, who was also the winner of the last two editions in 2021 and 2022. In 2020, the winner was Lewis Hamilton.
The circuit hosting the Formula 1 Grand Prix event in Imola 2024 is the Dino and Enzo Ferrari racetrack. Inaugurated in 1953, it measures more than 4.9 kilometers and is run counterclockwise. The speed record belongs to Valtteri Bottas in a Mercedes, achieved in the 2020 qualifying session with a time of 1 minute, 13 seconds and 609 thousandths.
A complex, complicated circuit full of ups and downs, slow corners and fast straights. Nine right turns and twelve left turns, including the Tosa turn, one of the most complex in the entire championship. This wealth of variables make the Imola circuit one of the most beautiful tracks in the entire Formula 1 circus, on par with Monte Carlo and Spa Francorchamps
During this weekend take advantage of the beauty of Emilia Romagna, the Motor Valley and great local food. A combination that has always made all participants of the event happy since its first edition held in 1981 and previously called the San Marino Grand Prix.
